Crate Digger An Internet Archive prototype from Goodz

Start with one thing you love. We'll dig up five more.

Pick a single recording, film, book, photo, or old program from the Internet Archive. We read it, then go looking through the Archive for five more things that belong next to it. You get a crate of six cards, each with a handwritten label and a note on why it's there.

Paste a link from archive.org

Any single item works: a recording, a film, a book, a photo, a program.

Not sure where to start? Try one of these.

Recent crates

Every build is a fresh curation, so the same seed can give a different crate each time. We keep them all.

What is the Internet Archive?
A free digital library in San Francisco that has been saving the internet and the world's media since 1996. Tens of millions of films, recordings, concerts, books, magazines, photos, and old software, all online and free to use.
What is a Goodz crate?
Goodz are small wooden cards, a little bigger than a coaster, with a chip inside. Tap one with your phone and it opens one piece of media, nothing to install. A crate is six of them in a box. This site is the crate before it gets printed: the same six cards, on screen.
